Something Is Happening!

Have you thought about all it takes to make something happen?

Just a little example.  In 1972 I loaded up a little U-haul trailer and hooked it to my 1971 Ford Pinto and headed from Oklahoma City to Chico, CA to serve as a Youth Pastor at Chico 1st Church of the Nazarene. 

I cannot tell you all the details of my life, but in the spring of 1974, a beautiful young lady attended church with her sister who was a regular attender of our church.  She (Colleen) was born in Willows, CA.  I was born in Murdo, SD.  Can you imagine all the events and twists and turns that God had to orchestrate to get us into the same church so that we got to meet and fall in love and get married and now have coming up on 53 years together?

This thought that "Something is Happening!" is no small deal.Similar stories are in the works all over the world!  Romans 8:28 is a classic description about how the Good Lord "...works in all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose!"  Wow!  

I've read the story several times about how how God brought an Evangelist by the name of Mordecai Ham to Charlotte, NC, in 1934 for a series of revival meetings.  Billy Graham attended several times before going forward to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord.  "They" say that Billy Graham preached the gospel to more people than any other person in history and that more people invited Christ into their lives under his ministry than anyone else in history.  That just strikes me that Dr. Ham and Billy Graham were a couple of those people God moved all over the place so Billy Graham could travel all over the world to share Jesus with millions and millions of people.

Hey, I got to shake his hand and greet him (Dr. Billy) in Anchorage, AK, when he came there for one of his crusades!

Well, just something to think about today.  How has the Good Lord moved the "chess pieces" around in your life to bring you closer to him?  What has had to happen for you to have the people in your life that are there for...your good.  Remember..."...He works in ALL things for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose!"
